Although Rob Niedermayer and his brother Scott Niedermayer were born in Edmonton, Alberta, they grew up living in Cranbrook, British Columbia. Niedermayer was drafted 5th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. At the time he was playing for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He started his NHL career right away, without playing a game in the minors. During the 1996 NHL season he set career highs in goals, assists, and points in the regular season. In the playoffs, the Panthers went on an improbable playoff drive to the Stanley Cup Finals, before being swept in four games by the Colorado Avalanche. Gaudreau was drafted 172nd overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft and started his National Hockey League career with the San Jose Sharks in 1992. He would go on to play for the Ottawa Senators after being claimed in the January 1995 NHL waiver draft. He played a total of 231 regular season games, scoring 51 goals and 54 assists for 105 points and collecting 69 penalty minutes. Gaudreau recorded the first two hat tricks in San Jose Sharks history during the 199293 season. He also played 14 playoff games with the San Jose Sharks during the 1994 season, scoring 2 goals. He left the NHL after the 1996 season and played just one more season in Switzerlands Nationalliga A for HC La ChauxdeFonds before retiring. A scrappy but somewhat undersized center, Tudor was selected 98th overall in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft by the Vancouver Canucks following a 106point season for the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League.
